Pursuing Truth and Renewal Together
Shepherd Her Ministries was founded on the precept that God intended for us to do life together, learning the truths in His word, building our faith, confessing our shortcomings, encouraging each other, comforting each other, loving each other and faithfully using our story to share the gospel with others. Unfortunately, we often find judgement in lieu of compassion and acceptance. We hold this space free of judgement and deception as we pursue God’s truth, serenity and renewal, working out our salvation together.
Barbara Straub
Hi. I'm Barbara Straub, founder of Shepherd Her Ministries. I am passionate about spending time with God, exploring His Word and sharing His truths with you. My story is filled with challenges that seem to just keep coming. I understand what it is to face the giants, what feels like the unspeakable that can leave you feeling isolated, fearful and hopeless. As a Christian leader, speaker and author, I have often struggled to find a safe space to authentically share the extremely difficult circumstances of my life for fear of judgement instead of compassion and comfort. While my trials are far from over, God has shown me beauty in the ashes and joy in the impossible. I have learned so much and would love to share it all with you. My sincere prayer is that this will be a place where we fervently pursue God's truths and authentically share the struggles and victories in our lives as we live courageously for Him.
My Statement of Faith
- I believe the entire Bible is God-breathed and infallible and contains every answer to man’s problems, questions and God’s future plan.
- I believe in only one God, the Creator of all things, perfect and existing as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three equal persons of God have different qualities and functions.
- I believe Jesus Christ is truly God and he became truly man, united in one person. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born by a virgin. He died on a cross, the sacrifice for our sins. Three days later, he physically rose from the dead and ascended into the presence of God.
- I believe in the Holy Spirit’s presence in the life of every Christian. He provides godly guidance and godly power in our lives.
- I believe all people are created in the image of God, all have value, all are loved by God and should be defended and protected accordingly.
- I believe that salvation is both the forgiveness of our sins and the restoration of a proper relationship with our Creator. Our salvation is from God and is a free gift found only in Jesus Christ. By admitting we have sinned and believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, and accepting Him as Lord, we can spend eternity with God. It is not a result of our deeds, but by God’s unearned favor.
- I believe the one true church, the body of Christ, consists of all believers in Jesus Christ.
- I believe in obedience to the Lord in the Great Commandment: to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
- I believe in the obedience to the Great Commission: to lead people of all nations to faith in Christ and to grow in Christlikeness.
- I believe Jesus will return and take all those who have accepted Him as Savior to be with Him for eternity.
“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul.” Psalm 23:1-2
